Back in business

One of the most famous quotes attributed to Thomas A. Edison is along the lines of “I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work”. I guess I could say that about the design work I did for the new site. I tried many various things since my last post, lots of work and research and in the end I ran into this theme on a friend’s blog and decided it’s simply better then everything else I did. So I am now counting on Edison’s principle to keep me from believing I wasted work and time for nothing.

It will probably have some future mods and I haven’t finished writing all the content I wanted, but it will do for now, as I have to many open-ended projects in queue. So welcome back and I hope you enjoy it. As always, feedback is more than welcome, it’s still a work-in-progress!

Welcome back! :D Live long and prosper, as the saying goes.

And now a bit of feedback from a mere reader. :) The template looks incredibly fresh! However, it feels a bit unfinished (or unbalanced) where the info tabs are – IMO. The Gallery looks great as well, I like the little dashes at the bottom for loading the pictures (it’s always great to know how many pictures there are to look at, esp. if you don’t have much time on hand – and they’re PINK!). And I like it that you can skip to next photo using the keyboard. However, if you happen to not notice you’ve reached the end of a section and click on the “right” arrow, it takes you back to the menu – briefly – and then straight to the next section. But I guess it’s okay – it looks great while doing it, that’s for sure. :D

Can’t wait to read new stuff! Have a great weekend!

By the info tabs you mean top or right? More work to be done in both anyway, so you’re right :) But I’m wondering if you mean unfinished design-wise or just more content-wise.
The gallery is amazing but it is not of my design so I try to leave it as is or just submit feedback to its author. It’s possible that what you are mentioning is a feature not a bug, because sure as hell it’s not doing all that by mistake :D

Thanks for the feedback, great weekend to you too!

Yes, yes, I was talking about the design and about the tabs at the top, left-ish. I think yours might be the most complete About section I’ve read up to now. :) )

    Welcome back :)

I like the new design, and I definitely like the fact that you have a gallery now :D

@Raluca: The funny thing is I love those tabs :D The minimalist design of this theme is probably 60% of the reason why I picked it. When I’ll get a chance I’ll mess around with it and make it prettier, but it probably won’t happen any time soon :-”

@Angi: I actually had that gallery up for a long time now but it wasn’t public. I waited for the redesign to make it public. But thank you kindly :)

I like the new design. But please, for those of us who have to wear glasses, coul you increase the contrast? the letters look gray rather than black and this makes it more difficult to read. Love the gallery.

Yes, I noticed that myself. It’s on my to-do list as soon as I figure out how to change it :) Thanks for stopping by!
